Durapipe waters manufacturing plant

Durapipe ABS pipework has been specified for a leading food manufacturing facility in Britain, as part of a re-development to increase efficiency and productivity at the plant in Selby, Yorkshire.
Leading manufacturer, Brecks Food, supplies extruded cereal and meat-free products to industry and retail and was updating its manufacturing site to increase the water supply to the factory.
The manufacturing process uses 50 tonne of water per day and the existing supply to the factory wasn’t adequate at peak times.
As a result, J Craig Dykes Property Developments Ltd was tasked with introducing a system that would significantly increase the water supply.
J Craig Dykes installed two new water tanks, each with a capacity of 18 tonnes, and required a reliable pipework system that could distribute the water to each of the four manufacturing stations.
Durapipe ABS pipework was specified in sizes up to 2” to carry chilled water from the new tanks to the four stations, as each process needs its own individual water supply. The key reasons ABS was chosen as the pipe system was the light weight versatility, taint-free benefits, which mean the pipe does not affect the medium being transferred, as well as the aesthetical appeal of the finished system.
J Craig Dykes was looking for a pipework system that would look aesthetically pleasing, as the pipework is visible in the factory, and that would also be easy to work with.
Durapipe ABS was recommended by Pipe Centre, a division of Wolseley, as it met the requirements demanded by Brecks Food in terms of performance characteristics and its ease of installation.
